Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Awaken 2026 conference app ("the App") operated by Deaf Millennial Project ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Attendees under 18 may only use the App with special permission granted by Deaf Millennial Project.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You may link your conference registration (Brushfire ticket) to verify your attendee status.

4. Acceptable Use & Zero-Tolerance Policy

We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. Any content that is harassing, discriminatory, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable will be removed immediately, and the user who posted it may be permanently ejected from the App.

You agree not to:

• Post content that is harassing, discriminatory, hateful, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate.
• Post sexually explicit content or violence.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the App or its systems.
• Share another attendee's private contact information without their consent.
• Spam or send unsolicited messages through the community features.

Reporting & Blocking: You can report any post or comment by tapping the menu icon and selecting "Report." You can block any user from the same menu or from their profile — blocked users' content is removed from your feed instantly, and our team is notified. We act on all reports within 24 hours by removing objectionable content and ejecting the offending user.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post (posts, comments, notes). By posting, you grant us a license to display and use your content within the App for the purpose of operating its community features. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.

6. Conference Registration

The App links to your Brushfire conference registration for verification purposes. Registration fees, refund policies, and ticket transfers are governed by the policies stated at registration. Deaf Millennial Project does not provide refunds; however, registrations may be transferred to another attendee.

7. Sponsors and Vendors

The App displays sponsor and vendor content for informational purposes. We are not responsible for the products, services, or claims of third-party sponsors and vendors. Transactions with sponsors or vendors are solely between you and that party.

8. Intellectual Property

The App's design, logos, graphics, and content not provided by users are the property of Deaf Millennial Project and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deaf Millennial Project shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile, posts, comments, notes, and friend connections. This action cannot be undone.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms within the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
